Lumpy:

I had sent you an email on Sunday, March 3rd.  On Monday the 4th you replied with a voice mail and told me that although you did not have any bikes available for the end of the week, that I should try a firm that you recommended.  I did indeed check with them, and they were able to oblige.  I did not take advantage of their availability, but that is not the point. I was able to ride a Deuce belonging to a buddy from Jax.  It was soooooo sweet!

Anyway, the point is that you responded promptly and provided me info so that I (in Richmond) could cut a last minute deal before I went to Bike Week.  I'm impressed.  Bottom Line?  Next time I'm looking to rent, I'll certainly point my biz your way.

Thanks for the excellent customer service.............something quite frankly you don't see very often in the motorcycle world.  I can say that with some impunity as I've been riding for 27 years (average 8 - 9K miles per year) and have owned 9 (no make that 10 counting that old Bultaco from the 70's) bikes.

Thanks again..........and keep me on your list please.

Wayne,

Thank you so very much for your extreme kindness and the amazing price break in renting to us the two ATV's.  They were a blast and the youth really enjoyed them.  The camp was a major success!  Thanks again and may God richly bless you.

Dear Lumpy and Natt,

Well it took a while, but here is the testimonial that I promised about three or four rentals ago.  Just wanted to say thanks, your operation is top-notch and takes all the hassle out of renting a bike in the great State of Colorado.

By my accounting, I have ridden over 2700 miles on six different rental occasions with L2 over the last 8 months.  Every bike has been clean, serviced, and ready to be ridden when picked-up.  In comparison to other rental companies, (out of state, Florida and Vegas with your competitors, don't worry Lumpy I'll only rent from you in Colorado) the time it takes from "the minute you walk into the door until your riding" at L2 is painless.  Other rental companies make you stand around while they check this and process that, which usually just means a half-hour or more of riding time subtracted from your 24 hours!  Thanks for taking the "pain" out of this process.  Plus, other companies force you to rent on their terms when it comes to pick-up/drop-off times.  Prospective rental clients take note!  When Lumpy says 24/7, he means it!  The first time I rented from Lumpy I was very excited to get started.  Lumpy asked me what time I wanted to pick-up the bike, in jest I said "hell, how about 4:45am?"  Lumpy replied, "5am works better for me, can you wait 15 minutes?"  I was sold on his customer service right there!   That just goes to show you that Lumpy and his crew are very accommodating and are willing to improvise to make your riding experience beyond memorable.

So if you are reading this letter on Lumpy's website, you must be interested in renting a Harley.  American made big twins have always had the reputation of breaking down and leaving you stranded on occasion, it happens, they are after all mechanical beasts with many moving parts.  During one of my rentals, it happened.  The Electra Glide I was riding threw a belt about 10 hours into my rental, not an easy fix without a new belt.  Luckily, I was pretty close to home.   First thing I did was get out the cell phone and I called Lumpy and left a message stating my situation.  I then dug into the saddlebag and pulled out the Roadside Assistance information (provided on every bike and for every rental, free) I called the 1-800 number and started to arrange for a tow (the agent estimated about 30 minutes till they would arrive).  About a minute after hanging up with the tow company, Lumpy called me back and said, "I'll be there in 15 minutes with a replacement bike".  Sure enough, Lumpy arrived as planned with a Road King.  We loaded the Glide on a trailer and I was back riding no later than 45 minutes after the first sign of trouble!   Again, luckily I was close to home when the bike broke; but, the moral of the story is L2 gives you options if something happens (fast response, roadside assistance,...) I know that I felt comfortable knowing that if I do get stranded, it won't be for long when you are on a bike from L2.

I know this letter sounds a little like a commercial, but I truly am very satisfied with every aspect of the "rental experience" you get when you deal with L2 and Lumpy.  I have sent a number of friends over to Lumpy when they needed a bike, and all have agreed.  Thanks again Lumpy, I look forward to more "seat-time" in 2002 with your company.

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

Pete Sepper

p.s.  Feel free to use me as a reference with any prospective clients who are not "completely sold" yet as to why L2 is better than your average rental companies out there.  Have them call or e-mail me, I would be more than happy to give them some perspective from a "happy customer".

Lumpy Comments:  Pete, thanks for the testimonial!  I remember that "belt" incident well.  Harley says they finally got the 2001 drive belt failures under control (wonder how many other belts failed?).  See ya' next time around!

Lumpy,

I had forgotten how much fun it was to ride a motorcycle until I rented one of your bikes.  Thank-you for being so helpful and fun to work with.  I'll be back!

Lumpy,

Thank-you so much for renting us the most awesome bike!  It was a killer ride I'll never forget.

Thanks again,

Kelly Fitch

Lumpy Comments:  Kevin, Kelly...I'm not going to argue with anybody that picks up a bike at 5 AM!  Glad to see you had fun!  Thanks for the pictures!

Lumpy,

Well, it's official, I have my license!  Thank you so much for all the information on the bikes and how they handle.  My goal is to own one by this Spring.  I have never had so much fun as the last time I rode the Dyna Wideglide.  I still have the sun glass impressions that forged into my fat cheeks by the wind as I flew down the canyons.

You have a great shop and I can guarantee you that you will not only get all my business but I have 5 buddies that are taking their test so that we can be urban Hog riders.  I have included the pictures from our Halloween party.  The million dollar question is...who is the doctor, the bank SrVP, the school teacher, the executive from a grocery store chain and the computer analyst?  As you can see we all had a great time.

Thanks for the use of the Harley!

Thanks again,

Mike Harmon

Lumpy Comments:  Mike!  Looks like it must've been one helluva' Halloween Party!  Congratulations on the license!

Lumpy Comments:  8 days, 2,000 miles.  A great adventure and lasting memories.

Hello,

We did all return home safe.  We are back to work, but we would prefer to be touring in the US..  We are talking every day about the good time we spend over there.  All the pictures had not returned from processing as we went to work.  Will send you some more later.  Our trip, close to 5000 miles in 15 days, did not frighten us to do a analogous trip at another occasion.  Sending you a couple photos from our trip showing us and the bikes in Arizona and Texas.  More of the story and more photos will follow.

Regards,

Rolf, Frank & Knut

Fevik, Norway

Lumpy Comments:  5,000 miles in 15 days!!???  That's 330 miles a day average over 15 days!  Ya' know...I might have to look at that "unlimited mileage" thing...just kidding!!  Route 66, Harley-Davidson & FREEDOM...it doesn't get any better than that.  Thanks again guys, see you next time around.

Wayne,

I would like to thank you for the rental of the Sporty, we had a great time.  Tawnya can't wait to get her own bike.  I've told personal and business friends about the great service and reasonable rates you offer.  We'll also be calling you for a snowmobile rental as soon as the snow flies.  Just wanted to say have a great day and again, thanks.

Lumpy Comments:  Yo', Adrian!  Heehee, I'll bet you've heard that quite a bit!  See ya' this Winter, thanks.

Hey Lumpy,

How are things going?  How is your wife after all the terrible events?  I'm sorry we are mailing so late.  I had a problem with my power supply (220 Volt instead of 110).  We have so much fun with your bike!  We have seen so many things!  It's just great.  The weather is still fine.  We are in Pagosa Springs right now and slowly heading back to Denver....  There is so much to tell, AND to show.  I think I will do that when we are back home.  Here's a picture anyway.  I think it is a great add for your page....

Can you tell me if things are back to "normal" at DIA after the terrible things that happened?  I have to check on my flight tomorrow.  We are flying United Airlines.

Well, I have to get a cold beer and jump in the hot tub...

Catch you later,

John and Lydia

Sankt Augustin, Germany

Lumpy Comments:  John & Lydia still have 4 days left on their 3 week adventure as of this posting (Sept 25, 2001).  John, this picture was so good I'm gonna' post it on our home page too.  Have fun, see you soon.
